Dig if you will - Pre-Embellishment!!

The good news is that Prince looks like Prince - not Fat Albert or Good Times Jimmy. The less than thrilling news is that the purple is a bit darker than would have been ideal and blends too much.

You can still see Prince's face, and it definitely looks like him, but it's more of a "mystery" pictures… you know, you think you see something but you aren't quite sure, so you look a little closer… and AHA!! That's kind of cool too in it's own way, it just wasn't what I had in mind.

The top 4-5 " of the bag did not felt as well as the rest of the bag, so I'm going to hold just that part in the washer and felt it up a bit more. Once that dries, it will be time to add embellishments to the fronts, and then add the lining and strap.

While not what I had originally planned, I still think it's going to turn out to be an awesome bag!

Prince is fully knitted up - immortalized in wool as Rachel would say - and ready to be felted!

Now, if he doesn't come out looking like either Fat Albert or Jimmy from Good Times (Dyno - MITE!) then I will have done at least part of my job well!

From here on out, I don’t think I’m going to include the chart. What really matters is the item, and frankly - scanning the chart is kind of annoying, plus the colors never really came out the way I would have liked.

So…. Prince now has not only a nose, but sunglasses, eyes, and partial eyebrows!! I’ve only got 28 more rows left to go which I’m figuring at about 4-4.5 hours more of knitting left before the fun stuff of lining and embellishing starts!!.

Prince bag - nearly done with the intarsia!!

I hope by Monday to have the final pre-felting picture for you! I’m getting more excited by the minute as I see the end of this infernal intarsia nearing!!
