We're really getting close now!  Less than 4 weeks to go until this newest little one makes his grand appearance.  Honestly, it still hasn't entirely sunk in that we're going to have a BABY here soon.  It's still quite shocking at times!

I spent the last weekend getting my 'nest' in order.  I filled a drawer full of baby clothes, a winter baby coat, blankets, burb clothes, tiny socks and hats.  I had forgotten just how tiny everything is.  It's unbelievable that an actual human can fit into those teensy things!

There was dusting, vacuuming, spot cleaning on the carpets,  burning nice scented candles, tossing and decluttering and reorganizing…  it sounds a lot like nesting, but I don't think it was true nesting.  True nesting would have not left me so exhausted that by Sunday, I was so tired that I, yes, even I was too tired to do anything but rest.  That's not like me normally, much less with nesting.  When my real nesting kicks in, it takes nothing short of a defensive line, duct tape and possibly a straight jacket to hold me down.

We've got lots of our supplies bought, but we're still bringing in more.  I had a moment of panic when I realized that we had nearly everything that we need on hand for a birth, but no diapers!  Mike had to remind me that we still had time to pick up some diapers before I got too nutty.

Probably the highlight of the week was getting our doppler in!   It was nice to finally hear the baby's heart beat.  We rent one toward the end of our UP/UC pregnancies so that we can get a base line for normal and then monitor the baby throughout the labor.  The whole family enjoyed getting a listen.

For more of my 'things I must get done before this baby arrives madness' check in next week.  I'll be attempting to lay new carpet on my upstairs landing, and sew up a baby wearing sling.  See you then!
