Spinning Fleece in the Grease

Feb 21st, 2005
This weekend I took my first foray into spinning in the grease, straight from the lock. The Shetland wool that I have is exceptionally clean, and only a few areas of it are really, really greasy, so it was a great experience!! Now, this fleece is wonderful, so I may be spoiling myself to trying it with anything less than as fabulous as this, but I'm glad I finally tried it!

I got 1 bobbin completely filled, and another one about 25% filled, so soon I will have beautiful 100% Shetland wool yarn ready for the wash!

Here's a pic of the partial progress:

I also spent alot of quality time with my crockpot this weekend and have some gorgeous died Mohair to show you soon! I'm letting it get a little more dry before I take the picture so the color will be more accurate. Mohair is a breeze to spin, and these colors are great, so I can't wait for it to be ready!!
